We are Massimo & Tracy, we fell in love with Cape Town and decided to bring our passion here!
Massimo is from Piemonte, in northern Italy & Tracy is from Liverpool, or the”capital of food culture”, as Massimo likes to call it… (tongue in cheek of course)
We feel that when dining with us, you are as good as in our home, and will treat you as such.
In March 2014 finally we returned from Italy where Massimo had a bone marrow transplant to cure a rare form of blood cancer. Luckily his sister Loretta was a perfect match as a donor.
Not everyone is as lucky as Massimo in having a sibling donor, therefore we are sponsoring the Sunflower Fund charity which strives to increase the number of donors in South Africa.
See the menu for the Sunflower Pasta & Pizza
(R10 for each sold will be donated to the Sunflower Fund)
Wherever possible we buy from small/local farms and suppliers who bring us free range and hormone-free produce. Our fish is sourced using SASSI principles (South African Sustainable Seafood Initiative)
We also use Green Home recycled and biodegradable take-away and doggy bag products, most of our packaging waste is recycled and we only use paper stars, not plastic. We are always striving to further reduce our impact on the environment.
Massimo’s also supports the Underdog Project, a charity rehabilitating vulnerable youngsters by teaching them to work with rescued dogs.

Why the chicken logo?
The idea of the chicken came from this old photo
The young trendy bambino is Massimo and the cool guy in the background his papà, the photo was taken more than 40 years ago in Piverone, Massimo’s village, where his family was running a small chicken farm.
(Thanks to Mamma’s diet – or was it papà’s wine? – Massimo was able to ditch the glasses in his 20′s!)
A big print on canvas of the photo is now on display at Massimo’s.
