Conviviality (from Latin: a feast, entertainment, a banquet)

This word personifies the Pizza Club, where you will experience the best pizza night you can imagine.

If you choose our Pizza Feast or Full Italian Experience, for a set price, you can enjoy as many wood-fired, thin based authentic pizzas as you can eat, followed by delicious home-made ice-creams and desserts.

We aim to introduce you to something you’ve probably never tried before. Our belief is that pizza has a bad name in this country, as it has mostly developed a reputation as cheap, fast-food. In Italy pizza is not an everyday food taken from the frozen food aisle. Eating pizza is a fulfilling experience & a treat, rather than a junk food staple.

Here are just some of the good things you will find at Massimo's Pizza Feast or the Full Italian Experience:

The History of the Pizza Club

2005 –the French countryside & 1 new pizza oven, 20 hungry guests and 2 dedicated food enthusiasts with restaurant experience and bags of dedication to quality food & excellent service. The Pizza Club was born.

A bit about us:

Massimo – from Piemonte in northern Italy, left home & Mamma at 28 (like most good Italian boys), worked in many European & world cities and settled in London in 1993.  Got bored with IT in 1999 and partnered a Venetian restaurant. Travelled the world extensively... and discovered the world needs good food!

Tracy – born in the UK, always very keen on food & cooking and happy to be the chef in any group of friends. An early stint as a veggie encouraged experimentation, and an interest in many world foods.  Worked for local authority as a bailiff (yes it’s true) & advocate for many years, after making a switch to the field of IT.

After meeting in 1997 & travelling the world together, picking up food ideas, we hatched plans for a move to the sunny French countryside and so began our next adventure. We wanted peace & tranquillity, & to share our love of good food & wine with our guest, who came to stay in our self-catering accommodation. We offered Italian, French and far eastern gourmet dinners and wonderful pizza evenings.

Why South Africa?..... having travelled here for 3 months in 2003, we developed a love for the country (and in particular Hout Bay) and kept coming back every winter, whilst our holiday business in France was closed for the season.  Several years later we decided South Africa held far more promise, both personally and professionally, so we sold up & moved here.
